The Poem Negro by Langston Hughes Essay -- Poetry Analysis

The sonnet â€Å"Negro† was composed by Langston Hughes in 1958 where it was a period of African American turn of events and the introduction of the Civil Rights Movement. Langston Hughes, as a first individual storyteller recounts to an account of what he has experienced as a Negro, and the existence he is glad to have had. He communicates his passionate encounters and makes the peruser consider what precisely it resembled to carry on with his life during this time. By utilizing explicit words, this permits the peruser to imagine the various circumstances he has been gotten through. Beginning the sonnet with the announcement â€Å"I am a Negro:† tells individuals what his identity is, Hughes proceeds by saying, â€Å" Black as the night is dark,/Black like the profundities of my Africa.† He recognizes Africa similar to his and is pleased to be as dull as night, and as dark as the profundities of the core of his nation. Being glad for him self, legacy and culture is unmistakably appeared in this first verse.
